Today's Tidbit

David Bowie released "The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars" on this day in 1972. It was an epic album with more influential hits then I will point to here today. David was on another planet mentally then which is probably why his music was so successful, it was different.

There are other songs of his I'd like to link here but for today I'll post "Starman" from this album.

Today's Tidbit

On this day in 2008 the legendary guitarist Bo Diddley died. I don't usually commemorate death but there isn't a lot to talk about today in music history and Bo definitely deserves mention. He's was and still is a big influence to more bands and musicians then I can count. Often with a black woman on bass and a white man on guitar, in a time when that was actually a societal controversy, he was progressive in every sense of the word. Here is a video of him in later years with his famous homemade square guitar.

Chorizo Sausage Stir Fry

A really simple meal today with cheddar cheese in place of soya sauce. Not shown in the pictures, a little fresh cut tomato on top just before eating.

Today's Tidbit

On this day in 1966 The Monkees began filming for it's TV series. It subsequently began airing from September 1966 to March 1968. I grew up watching The Monkees in reruns along with the Banana Splits and Ultra Man to name a few.

Here is a link to that very first episode released Sept 12th 1966. It's in two parts so make sure to watch the second video as well. I will also post "I'm a believer" which arrived in December of 1966.
