Cold Squirrels & Dessert

Yes you heard me! I'm going for the weird post title of the day award. No, there isn't any squirrel in this desert but the following squirrel pictures I captured today were rather hilarious. Someone needs to tell that squirrel it'll soon be time to gather nuts and hibernate. I'll start this off with a picture of last nights dessert.

Please don't wake me . . . I want to sleep!
You had to do it, you had to wake me?

Oh! I don't want to go!

Quick & Cheap Lunch

Naan bread, pizza sauce, cheese and a smattering of a few black olives we had kicking around. It sure beats typical fast food. Cheap doesn't have to taste bad.

Roast Beef & Gravy

The holy trinity. Meat, potatoes & carrots. All of it smothered in a rich home made gravy. Freshly ground black pepper a key.

Taco Tuesday

As the season get's colder there are always tacos to keep you warm. More of a summer food but a little spice goes a long way.

Ravioli & Meat Balls

Usually we just make sauce from scratch but this large jar of strained and crushed tomatoes imported from Italy was the same price as a small tin of tomato paste. It made for a richly red tomato sauce that was really tasty too.

Ham & Egg Sandwiches

No green eggs here just a little tomatoes, cheese and brrrr. Where's the soup?

Pot Luck

It's really just a Canadianized stir fry with potatoes instead of rice.

Remembrance Day

That was yesterday but we "celebrate" it today as a civic holiday, I also don't post on weekends.

Gnocchi Pot Luck

No idea what to call this but it was made with what was kicking around and tasted amazing. I guess I could have called it gnocchi and hamburger cacciatore. Either way it disappeared pretty fast.

Curried Pork Fried Rice

We both prefer the milder curry's that appear more yellowish then red. I think that's mostly the difference between the curry used in most Chinese foods compared to Indian foods. Either way, this tasted delectable.

Steak Chop Suey

With rice. It really is just a chop suey with rice this time and chop suey sounds better anyway. Aesthetics! What's google spell checker got against suey?
