Today's Tidbit

On this day in 1961 Chubby Checker started a three week run at No. 1 on the US singles chart with "Pony Time", his second hit of the 60's thus far. The tale the ear doesn't tell though is the hilarious dance that went with it. Here's a video to show you what I mean. Enjoy this!

Spaghetti Time Again!

It's hard to mess a spaghetti up. It starts with fresh field tomatoes, olive oil and some lean ground beef with the obvious vegetables and plenty of fresh garlic, oregano and basil mixed in. Let it simmer slow!

Leave the tin can's for kickin'.

A simple side salad with some cucumbers.

I'd say now were cooking with gas but truth is it's electric. Either way them taste buds get zapped.

Today's Tidbit

Many things happen in music each day and I try to pick things I enjoy or consider relevant.

On this day in 1970 The Plastic Ono Band [John Lennon & Yoko Ono] released the single "Instant Karma" in the US. John Lennon had written this song in one day. I'm not sure if he is credited with coining the phrase "Instant Karma" but he should have been. Enjoy!

Today's Tibit(s)

Today was an influential day in music history. The Platters had started a two week run at No. 1 on the US singles chart on this day in 1956 with their song "The Great Pretender"

Ray Charles  recorded "What'd I say" In New York City on this day in 1959 and on this same day in 1965 The Beatles were at work in the Abbey Road studio recording John Lennon's "you've Got to Hide Your Love Away".

If that weren't already enough to make today a special day in music history The Beach boy's Brian Wilson recorded the future classic song "Good Vibrations" on this same day in 1966.

Here they are in the same order:
